Notebook open on a table that says "Hi, I'm Katie." There is a pair of black thick rimmed glasses and a cup of tea above the notebook.

Hi, I’m Katie.

I care deeply about how people experience work. Not the perks or the slogans. The quiet, everyday moments that tell someone whether they belong.

For most of my career, I worked in operations and project management, helping teams hit targets and keep the wheels turning. Over time, I realized I was more interested in how people worked together than in what we delivered. I’d watch a meeting go silent after someone spoke up, or notice the same few voices always contributing, and I couldn’t stop wondering how to shift it. That curiosity pulled me toward diversity, equity, and inclusion. It’s work that lives in the messy middle of systems and humanity.

When belonging is built in, you can feel it. Ideas flow. Feedback lands. People stop editing themselves just to fit in. When it’s not, we lose more than productivity. We lose trust, creativity, and sometimes people who stop believing their voice matters. It’s not magic. It’s design. And it’s work worth doing.

These days, I write about change, resilience, and the culture-shaping moments that often get overlooked. I try to keep it thoughtful, with a little side-eye for balance. The truth tends to land better that way.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me at a hockey rink, reading something that gives me all the feels, or, against all odds, trying to keep a plant alive.

If you’re exploring what it means to lead with humanity, or trying to build something that actually lasts, pull up a chair. Let’s talk about the work beneath the work.
